FAQ

Where are your products made?

Our entire range was designed and created in Yorkshire, UK.

Who founded the brand?

Clockface Beauty was founded by mother and daughter duo, Karen Horsley and Sarah Thomas. Karen is a specialist scientist who formulated the very first Clockface Beauty product, our Signature Facial Serum, for Sarah to use.

You can read more about their background and journey over on our About page.

Is Clockface Beauty completely vegan?

We’re very proud that the entire Clockface Beauty range including skincare and wellbeing products are entirely vegan and cruelty-free. This means there are no ingredients used that are derived from animals, and absolutely nothing was tested on animals either.

You can read more about this over in Our Philosophy section.

How do I know which products will help me?

Click into any product on our website and you can read about what it will do for your skin and also how you use it.

But, if you’d like some further help, please visit our Skin Clinic. In the Skin Clinic you can take an online quiz which will piece together your perfect skincare routine. Or you can click Ask Sarah to speak to our founder Sarah Thomas (link to Sarah’s Instagram) directly. Sarah will come back to you with some bespoke advice on which products are best for you.

Why is it important to use all natural skincare?

Something that may surprise you is that it’s actually worse to put toxins on your skin than it is to consume them. Within the body, there are systems in place, like the digestive system, for example, to help break down elements our body doesn’t want. When applied to your skin though, these toxins go unfiltered into your bloodstream. Up to 60% of what you put on your skin can be absorbed, so it’s vital that you know what you’re putting on your body.

What is the shelf life of your products?

All our products are made in small batch quantities in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, which ensures that the Clockface Beauty product that you receive is the most fresh it can be. They all have a shelf life of six months from when you open them. To ensure your product stays at its best be sure to follow the instructions on the label about how to store correctly, in particular away from sun or heat.

Treat our products like fresh food for your body, buying only what you will use within the shelf life to ensure you get the best from your treatment.

I’m pregnant. Are the products safe for me to use?

Absolutely. All Clockface Beauty treatments contain less than 1% essential oils, making them safe for use during pregnancy. But please refer to your GP or pharmacist if you require more information.

I have cancer. Are your products suitable for me?

Very much so. Our products are 100% natural and organic and contain no artificial fragrance or alcohol. We understand that cancer treatment can be harsh on your skin and nails. And as your skin is the largest organ in your body the treatments can sometimes leave your skin feeling sensitive and dehydrated.

Our products are gentle and deeply nourishing, and safe to use throughout. Of course, if you are unsure we recommend carrying out a 24 hour patch test.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes, all our packaging is 100% recyclable or up-cyclable. Our products are packaged in amber glass, which is widely recycled. Except for our lip balm, which is packaged in fully recyclable plastic.

The boxes and outer packaging can all be recycled and, wherever possible, we use packaging made from recycled material.

Do you use Palm Oil in your products?

We don’t use Palm Oil in any Clockface Beauty product. Every ingredient is very clearly listed on each individual product, or you can read through the full life over on our Ingredients page.

Can I return a product if it’s not right for me?

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all of our products. If you’re unhappy with your purchase for any reason, simply send it back to us for a full refund or exchange. For more details and specifics, please see our Delivery and Returns pages.

What are the INCI names on your packaging?

EC legislation states that all ingredients must be given their Latin INCI name (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients). But we can appreciate that this isn’t very clear. So our labels have two lists of ingredients; one is the list of INCI names, and the other shows the more common names. By doing this, you can hopefully have a crystal clear understanding of what you’re putting on your skin.

Has the heat melted my product?

It’s very likely! Our products are 100% natural, so there are no stabilisers chemicals in our formula, which means that our balms and scrubs can be affected by heat and they can look very runny.

We recommend for all your treatments to be stored out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dry place. But if they have melted, simply pop them in the fridge or in a cool space and they’ll return to their original state.

My Rhassoul Clay & Vetiver Mask has a thin layer on it. Is it ok to use?

The Rhassoul Clay & Vetiver Face Mask may form a thin layer on top due to some of the natural ingredients used in the product being exposed to air. This is completely normal and doesn’t change the efficacy of the product. Simply remove the thin layer and carry on using the mask as normal.

I’m a Therapy Practitioner. Do you have any schemes available so I can use your products?

Absolutely. We have a Therapy Practitioner Scheme and would love to hear from you. Please email enquiries@clockfacebeauty.com to find out more.

Can I stock Clockface Beauty in my store?

We’d love to discuss this with you. Please email enquiries@clockfacebeauty.com with more information about your business.

A member of our team will be back in touch with you shortly.
